| Introduction | I'm a mid-30 mother of 3 who has had her share of "life's lessons." I'm a woman in a family hit by cancer in way too many ways, and I often write about how these unexpected lessons shape, define, and direct my life. I'm a new doctoral student and curious to learn more, share more, and discover more. I'm obsessed with organization, have absurdly high expectations, and have learned that those two things mean nothing if my life isn't filled with love. |

| Favorite books | I have probably read every one of Amy Tan's books multiple times. I don't have a favorite book, but I have read a number of books that really moved me and were powerful. |
