About me

GenderFemale
OccupationYoga Teacher by day, Paramedic by night
LocationAlbuquerque, New Mexico, United States
IntroductionYour Yoga Guide: from civilization into your wilderness. I practice and teach yoga as a technology for effecting and witnessing changes in consciousness. The body, the breath, the mind are all manifestations of consciousness. Blissful experience is always available to us, even in the midst of tragedy, and is the quality of authenticity - an often unclaimed birthright of all sentient beinngs.
InterestsYoga, of course! My first memory of yoga is from when I was three and doing it with my Mom. I began studying yoga with more or less discipline about 7 years ago before moving to Albuquerque. I'd been studying Tai Chi for about 7 years before that. I've practiced & studied Ashtanga, Hatha, Iyengar, Anasura andKashmir Shaivism in my approach. I've recently completed Teacher Training Apprenticeship and my registration w/ RYT is pending processing of documents.
Favorite moviesStranger Than Fiction... favorite quote: "Isn't that a kind of man you'd want to keep in the world?"
Favorite musicKrishna Das, James McMurtry, Red Hot Chili Peppers, John Denver
Favorite booksThe most pivotal book of my life was assigned to me by a cunningly brilliant teacher at St Teresa's Academy in KC - Ralph Ellison's _Invisible Man_. I'm currently reading a work of Kashmir Shaivism _The Splendor of Recognition_ by Swami Shantananda. Plato's early works, especially the _Symposium_ are indispensable for Western Wisdom Tradition. Poetry? Theodore Roethke - esp _The Waking_. e e cummings.
