Introduction	Karen Llagas grew up in the Philippines and is currently based in San Francisco. She's an experienced Tagalog interpreter and translator and have done consecutive, sight and simultaneous medical, legal, business and administrative interpreting, as well as translation localization & subtitling work for legal, medical and tech industries. She is a Filipino/Tagalog lecturer at UC Berkeley, teaches Tagalog to adults & children in San Francisco & Berkeley and online, and poetry through California Poets in the Schools . She earned her BA from Ateneo de Manila in the Philippines and her MFA from Warren Wilson College in NC. Her poems have appeared in print and online. This is one of her favorite places in the world.
