| Introduction | I am an educator in History, Politics,& Development at WMSU---where I served as Chairperson of the Department of Political Science (2007-2010); President of the University Faculty Union and Faculty Regent (2008-2010); Dean of the College of Social Sciences (2013-2015). I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Development Studies at the UP-Los Banos. I completed all the academic requirements for Ph.D. in History, Cognate in Political Science at UP in Diliman, where also I earned a Masters Degree in 2004. I obtained a Bachelor of Laws in 1999 and B.A. in Political Science in 1995 at WMSU. I was trained at DAP in its flagship course on Executive Development Program for SUC Deans. My research interests include: Public Fiscal Policy, Strategic Planning, Inclusive Growth, Sustainable Development, Diplomatic History, Geopolitics, Ethnohistory, Migration, Legal Research, Peace, Conflict Resolution, and Islamic Studies. I speak and write in English, understand Spanish, and Arabic. I am also fluent in Cebuano/Bisaya, Chabacano, Hiligaynon/Illongo, Filipino, Iranun, Maguindanao, M’ranao, Tausug, and can understand some languages in Mindanao. I value human respect and dignity. |
| Interests | Academic research, read newspapers, view TV shows, play lawn tennis, table tennis and chess. In 2003, one of his research works won in the Research Fellowship Programme for Young Muslim Scholars under the auspices of the Asian Muslim Action Network and the Rockefeller Foundation in Bangkok, Thailand. Moreover, Teng received various scholastic, sports, service, and leadership awards. Prof. Teng, plays Golf (Class A Division and received various citations and awards as Champion in various Golf Tournaments and garnered numerous special awards to include Longest Drive, Most Accurate Drive, Lowest-Net, Lowest Gross, among others) and he is a member of Edwin Andrews Airbase Golf Club as well as Zambonga Golf and Country Club. Teng also plays Lawn Tennis (Champion: the 2001 UP Community Tennis Open organized by UP-CHK and the 2004 "Halo-halong Palo" organized by UP-ACES), table tennis (1st Runner-up, SMASH 2002 organized by UP-KEM), and the Lawn Tennis Men Doubles (Champion) in the "2007 Battles of the Champions Cup" and the "2008 Battles of the Champions Cup" both held at the Zamboanga City Lawn Tennis Association. |
