| Introduction | Born in Glasgow in 1957, I started working for Plessey as a Telecommunications Engineer and a failed rock guitarist. I developed my career into working as a Data Centre Manager in the internet industry following years as a Telecommunications Consultant, and now head up a small niche-market consultancy. I write regularly on the state of Data Centres and the market in general and also contribute to a number of bird watching blogs through my 'pet' hobby. Having ageing parents and being of a 'certain age' myself, I contribute to a blog aimed at explaining technology to the 'over 50's' where I try to keep the technical bits to a minimum and just give access to the information that 'newbies' of a certain age require to get the most out of, and enjoy new technology. Outside of work and family, my main interests are fishing, birding and attending (ageing) rock band gigs. I am married with two perfect daughters who are growing up to be far cleverer than I will ever be! |
