| Introduction | I was born in Yakima, WA in 1944, attended St. Paul's Grade School, Marquette High School (valedictorian of the class of '62), and Gonzaga University with a B.A. in Philosphy, with a 2nd major in Latin and minors in Greek and English. I also played baseball for Gonzaga. Later, I received an M.A. in English from San Jose State University. I taught English and Latin at Granada High School in Livermore, CA for 35 years (1968-2003), and I continue to teach English a few hours weekly at Las Positas Community College in Livermore. I have been married to Claudia Foltz Willis for 42+ years, and we had 5 children (4 boys, 1 girl). Our youngest, Colin, passed away at age 6. The other 4 are all teachers, and, as of today (5/17/11), we have 4 grandsons! |
