| Introduction | I came to the Wild & Wet Pacific Coast of Canada from the lush, vibrant tropical islands of South East Asia. During the course of my journey I set up an online shop that helps me bridge the gap between my new home & my rumah lama. It is called Rumah Kampung and can be found at www.rumahkampung.etsy.com. Rumah Kampung means Village House in the Malay langauge. This shop takes it's inspiration from a wonderful wooden house I know in the Riau Islands, Indonesia. Built on stilts and over the water, it is a gathering place for the village and visitors alike. Today, my little village house on Salt Spring Island makes eco friendly products, especially bags recycle from quality men's suits and luxurious scarves from silks, taffetas and fleece. |
