Foxes are clever and tigers are cunning. So, what's your cat's safety school?

My 15 year old cat is always hiding? She stays hid to stay out of trouble LOL. She doesn't lay beside anyone except me & usually only allows ME to pet her. My 8 year old son is still new to her I guess? I suppose she is ANTISOCIAL. Our kitten Gary does not have a safety school? She is nuts, crazy, active, & has no idea when to stop before she gets in trouble. LOL.
