| Introduction | I recently moved from Canton, MI to Austin, TX. I’ve noticed that Texans are very patriotic and involved in their government. In Michigan everyone was pretty laid back, especially the younger generation. It’s interesting to see that many of my classmates, in this class, know a lot about Texas’ government and history. I have never been very interested in government but this class has turned out more interesting than I thought it would be, and has changed my attitude. It has also shown me that Texas has a very interesting and long history. I am hoping to leave this class with a deeper knowledge and understanding of our government. And maybe ill be able to have a conversation with someone over our government and actually know what they’re talking about. I can’t really call myself a democrat, or a republican, and embarrassingly enough I have not voted since I turned 18. My parents are my political influences and I was not raised under a specific party, instead, my parents voted on who ever they liked at the time. My political ideology test showed that I'm in the upbeat group, and the results were very accurate. |
