Introduction | I guess you could say that almost everything I know about being an intelligent, warm, passionate, sensuous, empathetic, modest, Black woman was learned in Japan. I can see it now…all of you single guys out there seated on the edge of your seats, wringing your hands while screaming out loud: “Now where can I get me one of THOSE kind of women??” (Hahaha...too funny!) Yes…I owe Japan many thanks for helping to make me the woman that I now am. Now, don’t get me wrong…you can’t lie in a bed of fragrant roses without getting pricked by the thorns at least every now and again...and yes, Japan has presented me with its share of thorns. I recently received permanent residency here, so I am committed to accepting the good with the bad, cherishing each step along the way. This particular journey into myself has undoubtedly been one of my most ‘priceless’ moments. From singing for the Japanese Emperor's daughter and inviting Magic Johnson here...cooking macaroni and cheese for Chaka Khan and meeting Kool & the Gang...to being an integral part of a country that has accepted me very graciously with many open arms and warm hearts! I am truly having the time of my life. |
