| Introduction | This account is an informal log of the process of my first commission. It is stream of conciousness and deals with not only the programmatic aspects of developing a dwelling, but also the social, economic, pragmatic and at times, even spiritual. The subject matter is not limited to just the design of the structures it's self, but also the site and it's surroundings, legal restrictions and plan approval, bidding, the ever morphing relationship between client, designer and general contractor. The process is/will be frustrating, puzzling and at times exhausting but will be rewarding and worth every minute and dollar spent. Thank you for reading. |
