| Introduction | It took my lovely husband Chris and me nine months to conceive, four days short of 10 months to give birth* and no time at all to fall in love with our splendid daughter Isla. Now we spend our time caring for her, marvelling at just how perfect and funny and clever she is. I’m not an expert in babies, but I do find great joy in researching anything and everything, a skill/interest I picked up during a career based in fact and en route to an MBA. Now, as I relish my year-long maternity leave and a break from my job as a management consultant, I find myself in the fortunate position of having time to record some of the things that interest me as a mom. As such, this blog is as much an account of my thoughts and opinions, stories and experiences, findings and feelings as it is a love letter to Isla. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I’ll enjoy writing it. *Isla was born August 21, 2010. |
