| Introduction | This is the gateway into the world of C.Jones…Who? I am a 20-something graduate student, former journalist, on a journey to do whatever it takes to make it in this American way. After working a couple years post undergraduate school, I quit a good job at one the largest newspapers in the country. I had a decent salary and benefits, which I left to start substitute teaching and waiting tables until I got into school. Seems crazy, right? But I had a blast. Basically, I went from living it up, sort of, in Tennessee, (niece car, apartment, and livelihood) to a different type of freedom. It’s kind of like Celi in The Color Purple said, “I maybe broke and may even be ugly… but thank God I’m here.” I now live in downtown Atlanta in a lower living situation and less money. But, I’m having the time of my life. |
