| Introduction | My husband, Terry, and I have been dreaming of owning land and having a farm for 37 years, and we have been dreaming of building a log house for about 25 years. We finally purchased 10.2 acres of beautiful land 5 years ago. We made our own floor plan (with the assistance of my cousin, Sheron) on graph paper and found a log home distributor, Southland Homes. Dave of Southland has been assisting us in getting a builder and in getting the final blueprint plans drawn up in Columbia. After months of plan revisions and red tape necessities, we are finally building our log home, The Gathering Place. |
