Introduction	My name is Dave. In my spare time I am a photographer and cook, among other things! I became acquainted with Mexico in the 1980's doing consulting for the Mexican Electrical Authority (CFE). I was introduced to the culture, people and food and was instantly seduced! Later, I changed jobs and no longer went to Mexico until 2008. I was trying to figure out if I wanted to retire to Mexico or stay here in the States. I initially looked at the west coast of Mexico, Mazatlan, but found it can get very cool over there in winter, so I started looking and discovered Merida very near the Gulf of Mexico. Climatology indicated it stayed well above 40 even in the coldest winters, but one does have to put up with 100 degree days in February and March. Late April through November is much more comfortable due to the rain. So I went to Merida to check it out. I found the same great people, culture and food! And truly fell in love with the area. So after several years of visiting and house shopping, getting through some immigration law changes, I am back looking again at maybe going to Mexico to live!
