| Interests | Francesco Pagnini lives and works in Casablanca fulfilling his mandate as Italian Trade Commissioner. Born to art, he enjoys early his vocation as open-air watercolour painter. His predilection for delicate colours leads him to explore remote landscapes and gentle villages populated by small baroque churches. Painting becomes soon a compulsive habit: his watercolour pad, brushes and tablets are always stored in his bag. Serving in the Army as lieutenant of the "Chasseurs des Alpes", he once was punished by his colonel after being caught sketching the barracks during the break. Favourite subjects: the windy cliffs at the sunset in his marine home town in the North of Italy; the ochre buildings of papal Rome; the green landscapes and flat boats in Amsterdam; the still sound of sand around the Pyramids; foam and salty winds from the Ocean. Personal exhibitions in Savona, Rome, Brussels, Cairo, Luxor, Ho Chi Minh. |
