Introduction	Permanently disabled since 1995 with spinal cord damage. Former Teamster, retail manager and journeyman carpenter prior to my disability. Born in Albany, California, lived San Leandro, California until 2000. Graduated St. Leanders Catholic School 1973, Moreau Catholic High School 1977. attended California State University at Hayward 1978-1981. Moved to Kauai in 2000, but have been back and forth since 1965, as my father, Alfred Corriea Sarmento was born in Lawai, Kauai, Hawaii. Previously active in Kauai Republican Party politics, including holding district chair for three years as well as being media liaison for four years. Held Kauai Republican Party Chair in 2010. Married to Darline M. Rita-Sarmento of Kekaha, Kauai 2005. Survior of low-dose prescription morphine use for 16 years. Nearly killed me, came down with Primary Hyperparathyroidism. Quit prescription morphine, cold turkey in February, 2016. Have an SCS, spinal cord stimulator, (IPG, an implantable pulse generator since July 2018). Proprietor of Kauai Christian Voters, a Christian Missions Project, Advocating for Christian values and participation in the public square.
