Introduction	I never thought I would start a blog...I'm still not sure I'll be able to post regularly. I always thought of this as a somewhat narcissistic exercise, predicated on the idea that you have something worthwhile to say that other people actually want to read. Most people are delusional about this. But I finally decided to go ahead because I'm really just talking to myself here, for future reference. Here's where I used to find myself when I began this blog, now over a decade ago (!): I find myself at a unique pivot-point in time: 30 years old, with a new President, embarking on a new career, uncertainty and anxiousness and yes, hope, ahead. 200 years since Lincoln came into this world. 100 years since the NAACP was founded. 30 years since the Soviet Union invaded Afghanistan--what Fareed Zakaria calls "the birth of the 21st century"--and we come full circle, since that's where I came into the picture. What do any of these things have to do with each other? Search me. I just like juxtaposing them, and the fact that they are nice round numbers. Let's see what happens next.
