Introduction Welcome to our little red house in the big woods, affectionately named Wildwood Cottage! After years of pining and preparing to one day have our own hobby farm, we are finally getting to live the dream! We have been blessed to retire from the US Coast Guard, start our own business, and buy a cozy little cottage on a sunny acre of land in Southeast Alaska. I am the Momma of this brood, and I am married to one seriously hard working and handsome Daddy. We have 4 amazing, frustrating, beautiful, boisterous, chatty kids ranging in age from 12 yo twins, a 9 yo daughter, and a 3 year old 'baby' boy. Oh-and did I mention that we homeschool in this 1100 square foot, 3 bedroom, 1 BATH (!) home? I think someone may have read too many books written by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Ralph Moody...
Interests Jesus. Sleep. kids and anything my kids are into which currently includes: Thomas the Tank Engine and big machinery, computer programming, Historical Conquest, art, fairies, ancient Egypt, talking veggies, sewing and loom knitting. I do love to cook, hike, camp, scrapbook, sew, write, sing, and garden.
Favorite Movies Beauty and the Beast, the old Christmas in Connecticut with Barbara Stanwyck, Mr.Smith Goes to Washington, The Others (don't care much for Nicole Kidman as an actress but love the twist at the end!), The Passion of the Christ (Not one I want to see repeatedly but when I'm feeling lukewarm in my faith it gives me a reality check), White Christmas, anything by Rogers and Hammerstein, period pieces like Elizabeth, North & South (British Version), and either version of Pride and Prejudice!
Favorite Music Haven't listened to much grown up music in 5 years or so, but I like Christian rock, Praise and Worship, Celtic, blue grass, showtunes, big band, southern gospel, OLD country, and rock-no rapcore, cheesy boy bands or hip-hop for me please.
Favorite Books Anything by L.M.Montgomery, but especially the Emily Trilogy (It's like Anne of Green Gables mixed with Jo of Little Women). The Prodigal series by Beverly Lewis, The Mysterious Journey of Edward Tulane and Desperaux by Kate DiCamillo, and I must admit that I did enjoy The American Heiress by Daisy Goodwin.
