| Introduction | I'm a former math major whose world view is still pretty (some would say overly) numerically oriented. But I'm driven by my heart as much as my head. I have two kids of whom I'm insanely proud, and a spouse who I'm unshakably in love with even if he sometimes exasperates me. I also have two "empty nest children" (canine, that is), a Bichon Frise named Oliver and a Havanese named Lucy - and three felines: Stanley & Stella Kowalski (so named by my son, a theater major) and Chloe, all rescue cats. I used to practice law, but gave it up when I became disabled a few years ago. I'm a public health practitioner wannabe, if I ever get well enough to work again. (I do have an MPH degree, so this is not as farfetched as it might sound.) After growing up in Texas, I now love living in New England. Yeah, even winter, though that one is sometimes dicier now that I have a more difficult time getting around. I'm also passionate about social justice issues and would do just about anything to get Dubya et al out of office and start getting the country back onto a path that won't leave a huge mess (in every way) for my children and their children. |
