| Introduction | I am setting out to study abroad and live in Spain for almost 3 months, so I thought it would only be appropriate to catalogue the adventure in some way. Welcome to my stream of consciousness. The reason for the blog name? 3 of my best friends and I moved into a 4 bedroom house before our sophomore year of college, and my roommates Anna and Laurel bought us a house gnome fondly named Leonard. Leonard was the gateway to us acquiring Phinneus, Putnam, Oliver, Whispering Beach Bungalonius (yes we named a gnome that), and many more loved house gnomes. We now have a large collection of gnomes that my current roommate Anna and I are still adding to and displaying in our living room. Each of them have a special place in our hearts. Yesterday in Ashland, OR my mom and I wandered into a funky little shop and she found me a "Gnome Away from Home" kit, so of course she bought it for me. So here I am, about to set off on my adventure to Spain with my Gnome away from home. His given name is Cedric, but for the purposes of this adventure he will only answer to Hector or Mauricio (he's embracing the culture). Hola España, y Oregon adiós, pero sólo por un tiempo :) |
