| Introduction | Dr. Kennedy Lweya holds a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Livelihoods (International Development and Applied Economics) from the School of Agriculture, Policy and Development of the University of Reading in the United Kingdom. His research work on microfinance service provision for micro, small and medium scale enterprise development has provided key insights for sectoral policy reform in Malawi. He also holds a Master of Science in Agricultural Development Economics also from the University of Reading and a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture from the University of Malawi. He is passionate about farming, development economics, rural and urban socio-economic development programming, microfinance and business. The inspiration to pursue further studies in microfinance arose from his previous work experience in Rural Development with World Vision International, the Department for International Development (DFID) and the World Bank funded Malawi Social Action Fund (MASAF). |
