IntroductionI believe I really know who I am some days. I even have an idea of who God is - some days. Seems like those two pegs oughtta keep me hangin' pretty steady most days...and they do. Really. It's simple but it works. There IS a God and I ain't HIM! Even still I have my days when I find myself sloggin' down that muddy loggin' road hopin' I don't get stuck, you know? Some days, the trudging is just slow and difficult. Period. In a moment of PURE brilliance, Scott Peck decides to launch his landmark book, The Road Less Travelled, by announcing in the first three words that "Life is difficult." When I first cracked that one, I wondered JUST where he was headed with THAT!?? But he goes on to remind us that if we can accept that, Life can be pretty darn GOOD! I try to remember that on those days when my fears make me wanna pull the covers back up over my head...and I get up anyway and trudge the road. I try to mine a little faith nugget outta every day somehow...and I almost always find it in recovery circles. My prayer is usually, "Lord I believe... help my UN-belief." Much love, my friends... ~ Wes
InterestsSkiing a steep black groomed run at Vail from top to bottow without stopping, banging down the same run in the Summer, but on my classic suspension-less Cannondale. :) Ridin' the Hog in the mountains in the Fall. Or the Suzuki offroad in the Hill Country when its cool. Eating dinner in my reserved seat at the iPic while watching a great new flick. A day trip to Enchanted Rock or Bastrop Lost Pines to get grounded and in the moment. Mowing the lawn on a Spring day when its cool.
