ORGANIZER MAN
My blogs
| Introduction | I'm a priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and work for Progressive Christians Uniting as a chapter organizer. I also serve on their board as treasurer. I have mostly been a life-long Democrat except for a brief excursion during the 60s when I was registered as Peace and Freedom Party (couldn't handle Johnson's war in Vietnam). The choices we face are critical this year, and the values of this campaign most closely reflect my own faith values. I came to the Obama campaign hoping for a new beginning for our nation. Love of country is a good thing and by heading out to Ohio to work for Obama for five weeks until Election Day, I believe that I will be giving my best effort toward transforming our nation into a society where once again we remember "the least of these" (Matt. 25). As Cesar Chavez used to urge us: "Don't mourn. Organize!" |
