Introduction	I am a first year MFA and TA in the Composition program at Pitt, having returned to college with only three undergrad credits under my belt at fifty. It has been an amazing, thrilling and difficult path of persistent hard work with palpable rewards, especially those gained from highly invigorating writing and learning relationships. Also,I have found that the stories that interest me are those demonstrating a complexity of human strength and frailty, love and rage, the abuse of power and overcoming powerlessness. These true things bind my writing together and keep me focused on the finish line which will in turn become a new beginning.
