Introduction One of the challenges of contemporary Christianity is the lack of the requisite skills for interpretation of Bible texts using proper biblical hermeneutics and sound biblical exegesis. In order to properly interpret and understand what a Bible text means, it must be interpreted historically, grammatically, and contextually. Every time you read a Bible passage, you must always ask yourself the question: (1) What did the author originally have in mind when he wrote this? (2) What message was he trying to pass across? (3) What did it mean to the people to whom he wrote? (4) What is the context? (5) What do the words mean, and how are they used, in the original language? Sadly, many Christians are not taught this skill. So, they quote Scripture out of context and misapply Bible texts. If you want grow in faith, you must endeavor to: “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth..” (2 Timothy 2:15)
