| Introduction | EISA DAVIS is the author of the plays BULRUSHER (2007 Pulitzer Prize Finalist), WARRIORS DON’T CRY, HIP HOP ANANSI, ANGELA’S MIXTAPE, PAPER ARMOR, SIX MINUTES, UMKOVU, and THE HISTORY OF LIGHT. BULRUSHER is published in New Playwrights: The Best Plays of 2006. As an actress, Eisa most recently appeared the Public Theatre in the rock musical PASSING STRANGE, and her film and television work include THE WIRE, LAW AND ORDER, ROBOT STORIES, HAPPENSTANCE, CONFESS, THE ARCHITECT, and PRETTY BIRD (upcoming). In May, Eisa released an album of her original songs, SOMETHING ELSE. She is a graduate of Harvard and the Actors Studio/New School, and was born in Berkeley, CA. |
