| Introduction | "Anytime you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect"--Mark Twain. I am on this Financial Freedom and Voluntary Simplicity journey because I am tired of being on the side of the majority--the majority of the population is in debt. A little bit of background about me... I am a southern girl raised by my grandmother. We always had enough because she was always frugal and a saver. I "got it" from her, when neither of her 6 kids did. As a result, I have never had "bad debt" and was never materialistic. But, I still felt a need for a change.... This journey is my own and only I can define it. I want a life that is full of meaning and allows me to be firmly in the driver's seat of my life--hence the title, Mogul In Training. There is one catch, though (huge, devilish grin)...although I am voluntarily living with less there is one indulgence I will never relinquish--my LOVE of handbags! What can I say, I'm still a girl! |
