| Introduction | South Asian Film Education Society was founded in Vancouver on November 19, 2006. Its objectives are to promote the understanding and appreciation of South Asian cinema with regard to its history, craft, distinctiveness, and engagement with the cultures, societies, and politics of South Asia and the South Asian diaspora. The Society will show films of significance in relation to the above objectives. It will offer information on films and enable discussion of them after the showing. The Society will also arrange talks on films and by filmmakers. The Society will gather and preserve information on South Asian cinema. |
