| Introduction | We (David, Jean-Louis and Céleste) started French Café in July of 2007. We had successfully run a language meetup together before but we felt too constrained by the infrastructure. So when we realized that with our own democratically-run French-based meetup group we could have all sorts of French based activities and a lot of fun in the process... we had to do it! We cover the membership fees, it's our gift to you, so don't offer us money! Although if you really want to contribute, you can bake us cookies from time to time. We like to support our local businesses by choosing independent stores over national chains, when possible. So, unless you're really broke, we ask that when we go to a bar or café you buy something, even if it's something small. We care about what you think so when you have an idea for a meetup or a thought about how we can run it better... tell us! You'll find we're very open to new ideas. |
