Introduction	My purpose with this blog is to try and educate others and to be educated by others as I go through the process of building this boat. I hope I do it justice. I was a cabinet maker for 20 years. I have since moved on to doing Cad Drafting for the last 15 years. Back in 1980 my new wife and I moved to Maine for me to go to the Landing Boat School in Kennebunkport, Maine. Over the decades I have always wanted to build a boat again and finally am in a place and frame of mind to make it happen. A couple of years ago I started to look at boats that appealed to me. I found myself looking at the Iain Oughtred boats in general and then at his Arctic Tern specifically. I could not resist. I went with building a kit to save some time and effort over the long haul.
