Introduction	Shirley “La Pili” Pincay began singing at a young age. She was drawn to the Classical Hindustani Music and studied with Gauri Guha. La Pili is also a flamenco dancer and began studies with Esmeralda Enrique in 1994. She has completed dance workshops with Ramon Martinez, La Farruca, Mercedes Ruiz, and Torombo. In 2006, she became passionate about flamenco singing and began training with singers Jesus Corbacho, Encarna Anillo, and El Moro. Since then she has traveled to Spain to train with Lorenzo Gálvez “Ripoll”, Miguel Soto Peña “El Londro" and Pepita Rhode. She continues her vocal education with Ciara Adams and in Toronto. La Pili performs with the Esmeralda Enrique Spanish Dance Company, Los Amigos de Pilar, the Fedora Upside Down Collective and has also worked with Compañía Carmen Romero. She performs regularly at the Embrujo Flamenco restaurant and is one of lead members of Flamenguitos del Norte. Shirley has also collaborated with different members of the Fedora Upside Collective and has helped organize events the collective has done in Toronto.
