Introduction | As she approaches her mid-century milestone, Margy, who once envisioned herself taking The Great White Way by storm, is now convinced she should audition her juggling act the next time the circus comes to town. An author and drama teacher, she believes her best shot at the Big Top to be the act where she balances precariously on her own turbulent hormones and alternately keeps a family of four humans, one beagle, two cats, three desert tortoises, a cockatiel and three goldfish aloft; all the while never taking her eyes off the hundred-plus middle school students assigned to her care, or missing a meeting with her muse. Married to the same sparkly-eyed man for twenty-six years in a row, she and Sparky have produced and directed two children. Their son, Snooze, is now twenty, a 6’2” college student. Darling daughter, Shriek, is a blonde, blue-eyed, fourteen year old high school freshman. Margy maintains the kids were Sparky’s idea. He insists he wanted puppies. |
