| Favorite music | Too many to list, but the Pixies, Elliott Smith, The Clash, Elvis Costello, Leonard Cohen, Ray Charles, The Carter Family, Nick Cave, X and The Beatles stand out. I'm also a sucker for 60's one-hit wonder garage rock. |
| Favorite books | Food writing and cookbooks. James Beard and Jeffrey Steingarten are my favorites, but Craig Claiborne, Jacques Pepin, MFK Fischer and Julia Child stand out. Also the poetry of Raymond Carver, and novels of TC Boyle, Kurt Vonnegut and Truman Capote. |
