Introduction	I'm a 39 year old Southerner living in the Midlands with my husband & 2 children. I'm attempting to write an account of my journey towards participating & completing my first marathon. I have had a very full exciting year so far, really catching the 'running bug' and running in several events..my most recent being the Bupa Great Run in Birmingham which was my first half marathon and my longest distance to date! I also got married abroad in beautiful Pathos, Cyprus. The most wonderful setting for what turned out to be an exceptionally happy day for all involved!
