| Introduction | I'm a freelance writer who lives with my husband (Whit), my daughter (Caroline, 12) and my son (Jack, 10). We recently said goodbye to the best old dog in the world (Bo) and my dad (Grumpy), who lived in the basement and wanted dinner served at 7:30 pm sharp, every night. Because it would be silly to have a calm and quiet life, we recently brought home Piper, our puppy, and she’s ruling the house. The guinea pig (Lilly) is still going strong. My writing has appeared in Washingtonian magazine, Bethesda magazine, on the New York Times parenting blog "Motherlode," in the print and web editions of Mamalode magazine and on PsychologyToday.com.
