| Introduction | After years of searching for "my passion" I finally discovered it on the peaceful, tranquil hiking trails known as Ramapo Reservation. In the past, I had always felt lazy, boring, unmotivated and to my dismay, an individual lacking a genuine passion. I sincerely wanted to change that, but didn't know "What I like to do for fun". If you find yourself in that same category, continue reading. My older brother Glenn whom I admire and have envied his passion for hiking, was the one who encouraged me to hike with him as to experience all the rich, intoxicating experience that only hiking has to offer. I'll admit that at first I didn't care too much for it, but as I gave it a few more tries, I realized why he loved it so much. I finally found what makes me push my limits to the max and strive to achieve new goals and aspirations. I discovered my zeal for hiking. |
| Favorite movies | Living in the tri-state area, houses are crammed as close together as possible, streets and highways are consumed with traffic as people go to work, school, etc. When I find myself on the trails, the hustle and bustle of everyday stress and sense of rushing to be on time completely melts away. No congestion of people, most of the time I find that I am the only one on the trail (especially in the winter months). There is time for introspection as I view miles of beauty at the lookouts. There is time to marvel at the magnificent waterfalls. There is time to admire the gorgeous lakes, reservoirs, ponds and streams. Stress and anxiety completely melt away as I scale each mountain, anticipating what beauties await. There is time to take the stress of life down a few notches and appreciate life. This is what I hope for you to experience and feel. Read my blogs, get a small taste of what the trails have to offer, and get out there to acquire the sentience that trail hiking has to offer you (And it's a free hobby at that!) |
