Introduction These days if you were to ask Timeka who she was, womanist scholar would probably be the first descriptive to come out of her mouth. Hard at work on a doctoral dissertation on Black women's faith-based interpretive strategies and public narratives, writers like Alice Walker, Anna Julia Cooper, and their womanist peers are part of her daily nourishment. In addition to spending her time thinking about Black female audiences and producers, teaching undergraduates to think more critically about media texts, and presenting her ideas in invited lectures and conferences around the world, Timeka is also a woman of faith, and a Zumba queen. She enjoys road-tripping with her other half, laughing with her family, and dreaming up new public service ideas with her sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
