Introduction My real name is Jim Kuba. For the last ten years I've been a volunteer tour guide (aka a Docent) on the museum ship the USS Slater DE-766. Many years ago, during the Vietnam War I served as a 2nd class Gunnersmate, on two Destroyers (the USS Frank Knox DDR-742, and the USS Henry W. Tucker DD-875). After the war, while attending college, I remained in the active Navy Reserve for approximately four years. I got involved with the USS Slater as a direct result of my son's Eagle Scout Project. Currently, I give tours on Sunday. I'm a semi-retired CFO. For the last several years I worked in a part-time capacity for several small entrepreneurial firms in a Controller/Financial Analyst capacity.
