| Introduction | This is my first attempt at blogging, as you can no doubt deduce. If I had to describe myself, I would say I am peasant. I live simply and quietly in the woods of southern Indiana, surrounded by tall trees atop a ridge of ancient limestone. I consider myself a steward of this piece of land and feel responsible for preserving it. In the 70 years I have been given to walk this early, I have had many adventures and touched many lives. Gratitude for my blessings fills me. Personal stuff: retired, write a weekly column, working on a book, divorced for 27 years, 3 kids, 3 grand kids, 3 dogs, 1 cat. In my youth I was a wild red head. Those red curls turned to silver, but the passion for life still glows in my soul. |
| Interests | creating with words, with textiles, with paint, with what ever is handy, the natural world, travel, reading, camping, gardening, spirituality |
| Favorite movies | I like old black & white movies from the 30s and 40s, comedies mostly. |
| Favorite music | I enjoy just about all types of music. From Bluegrass to Opera. |
| Favorite books | Oh my, that is difficult. My favorite is probably "North with the Spring" by Edwin Way Teale. I read An Edwardian Lady's Diary almost every year. Anne of Green Gables, Ahab's Wife, I also like mysteries for fun, like Margaret Coel, and Nevada Barr, Alexander Mc Call or the Mazie Dobbs series. |
