| Introduction | When I was 9 in 956 I helped my father make and handout flyers for meetings of the Community Service Orginazation, an effort led by the founder of the United Farm Workers Union Chaves and Fred Ross. The Community Service Orginazation helped poor farmers find places to live food to eat,Medical care and legal aid,. They also encouraged them to vote. When I was 12 my best freind Virginia got ran over by a car when she was taking her two brothers to the nearest park which was 3 miles away. I patitioned 4 years until the city made a closer park. when i was in 8th grade i formed the Junior CSO and I was president in my teens. I'm a founding member of the UFW Union. I led strikes amoung Salinas lettuce workers, ran Union campaigns and set up health clinics along the American Mexican border. |
