Introduction Michelle has been working in local government for approximately 18 years with a brief sabbatical in the United Kingdom to work for international publishing company Dorling Kindersley as a project manager. Since 2006, Michelle has been Manager Library and Heritage Services for the City of Wanneroo, Perth WA.In this role, Michelle is responsible for five libraries, 2 heritage houses, heritage trails and lime kilns located in the City of Wanneroo which is unique in being one of the oldest local governments in WA (1907) as well as the newest local governments with one of the fastest growing populations in Australia. Michelle is active in ALIA and has served 1 term as ALIA Director, is on the ALIA west Committee, the Public Libraries Australia Board (PLA) as the ALIA representative, the PLA WA Committe and has previously chaired the Metropolitan Library Managers Group in Perth as well as participated on the state local government library association executive for two terms.
