| Introduction | I am a metal and folk music-loving mom from Alabama and I work Social Services in San Diego, CA. I am also a survivor of childhood sexual trauma and physical abuse, in addition to being a survivor of the fascist body wars in America, as I had an eating disorder for 6 years (15-21). As of now, I have broken the restrict/binge/purge cycle. It's a tenuous grip I intend to keep. Although I acknowledge the effect the abuse has had on my body and mind, I don't consider myself a victim, as I have chosen to take control of and responsibility for my life. I am , as all survivors eventually must, attempting to live my life in the present. This is a document of my journey. |
