| Introduction | I see a lack of support for moms in science. I see very few science mom's in ecology sharing their experiences. I see a gap in how we are viewed versus how we are. Thus a blog is created. I'm a Mom of 2 (ages 4 and 2). I'm a spatial landscape forest climate disturbance modeler ecologist and a wannabe botanist. I'm doing a post doc, I had my kids in grad school. I'm married to a bird dude who is also a postdoc (if you are Mom in a relationship with a birder, I'm here for you). I have a housekeeper to keep my sanity but I still wish I didn't have to laundry on the weekends. Oh, and my kids are amazing, wonderful, incredible and leave me completely exhausted at the end of each day. So that's the scoop. This blog is to let other moms in the academic world out there know that they are not alone. We can commiserate and celebrate together! Welcome |
