IntroductionRP has managed projects for APS since 2004. Prior to APS, he practiced in New York City for 9 years with a concentration on the design & construction of educational, research, and health care facilities. His projects are wide-ranging: hospitals in NYC, a cardiac hospital in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, a Transplant Center and research facilities for Columbia U., having administered the design and construction of its first BL-3 laboratory which is instrumental to the Northeast Bio-Defense Center in the study of Borna-Virus, SARS, West Nile and other emerging infectious diseases. A native of Honolulu, he is a 1988 graduate of the U. of Hawaii with a Bachelor of Architecture. He practiced with Architects Hawaii Ltd., Urban Works Inc., and operated his own firm for a number of years prior to his move to the mainland. He also earned a Master of Public Health in Health Policy & Management from Columbia University. He is a licensed architect in the States of Hawaii and New York and a recently designated Associate Design Build Institute of America Professional. In addition to the $93m SWHS, he is also managing other design + construction of schools in southwest Albuquerque.
