| Introduction | I am outgoing and busy 44y/o wife, mother, and educator. I am married to the man I have loved and respected for over 20 years. My husband, Mark, serves as senior pastor at the First Baptist Church. We have two amazing boys, Micah and Joshua. Both are growing into fine young men. Micah is challenged with multiple disabilities yet his zeal for life will brighten even the saddest of days. Joshua is an outstanding student and athlete struggling with the challenges of adolescence. After having been a classroom teacher for ten years I joined the K20 Center for Education and Community Renewal at the University of Oklahoma. I have the pleasure of working with educators from all over the state of Oklahoma. Currently my greatest challenge is completing my Ph.D. in Education. Update (3-28-09): Micah was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma in 12/06. This is a rare children's cancer. He went through 42 weeks of treatment - Chemotherapy, radiation, and numerous surgeries. He was declaired out of treatment in 10/07. However, after just 9 months our of treatment his cancer returned. He has had surgery and is in week 29 of 54 weeks of treatment. |
