Introduction	Chris Saffran is a writer, musician, fantasy enthusiast, licensed private investigator, and a proud father. More than a decade into a career as a detective in the NYPD, Chris hung up his badge to pursue writing and raise his daughter. Having developed a keen eye for detail and a broad understanding of the subtleties of human emotion and interaction through many years of detective work, Chris has put these skills to good use in his post-NYPD life, authoring several screenplays for film and television and consulting on creative projects as an expert in crime, combat, and investigations. Ever devoted to children, Chris founded KinderShield Agency in 2004 (a private detective firm dedicated to protecting children), and began writing fantasy fiction in 2005.
