IntroductionI was born in 1950, a product of the post war era. My father was a veteran of the Kokoda trail and I grew up listening to war stories and dealing with my father's post-traumatic stress from the war. I was one of five sisters, and a strange child who grew even stranger in adolescence into adulthood, never really fitting any mould. I developed a kind of pride in being "different" but now as old age encroaches, I see this identity as just another game of the ego. I guess to my parents we must seem to have led a lucky and trouble-free life compared to their lives which were marked by economic depression and war. But to me I seem to have had something of a disturbed life, not physically, but a disturbance of the soul, which has been with me since my earliest memories. The plus side of this disturbance is that I have been forced to reflect and think and seek out answers throughout my life. Hence this blog, which is my attempt to put my many musings on the line (I mean "on the line" as in risking ridicule, censure or other scary things, but also "on line" makes sense :)) for your response if you feel so inclined.
