Introduction I have been a collector of primitives for many years. I think it all started with antiques and old itemst that my grandmother had. I used to love to go to her house and search in her big house for all of the little items that I loved playing with. I did not play with toys; but, with her buttons and her handkerchieves. They were starched, ironed perfectly and folded professionally. They smelled so clean and fresh. I would go to her old antique sewing machine and open all of the little drawers to see what treasures were inside. She had two bedrooms upstairs that were so full of treasures such as old dressers with mirrors and large chest of drawers that were filled to the brim with fresh linens and just opening the drawers gave me the great feeling of calmness and peace. My grandma had the freshest smelling laundry ever. Her house was just immaculate and always smelled "clean". To this day, when I see an apron, I think of my Grandma, Ila May. Isn't that a pretty name?
Interests My many interests include gardening, collecting old boxes, shutters and anything someone else might have discarded. I really think I am living in the wrong time period. I think I could have been Carolyn Ingalls and lived on the prairie with my little girls and cooking on the old wood stove. Yes, crazy as it may sound, I think that is the life I was intended to live.
