| Introduction | The Patina Project is about redemption, plain and simple. Acknowledging and seeking the broken, beat-up, and worn and looking past the dirt and the grime to see what could be...whether it be in a project piece, our current circumstances, or even people in our lives that at first glance seem less than lovely. Almost everything has inherent beauty if we can just find the patience and persistence to move past the unlovely and invest. It is usually messy and it is almost always inconvenient. But if we succeed we don't just have the rust or the wood or the raw bits of life... we have a story. And that story plus our investment of sweat and time and frustration and joy is what transforms plain old oxidation and grime into Patina. Because when we reimagine something we aren’t the first to take on the unlovely and pour our love and life and being into it to make it whole and lovely and valuable again. I’d like to think that we are just following in the footsteps of the One in whom all creation lives and moves and has it’s being. Reclamation is really His big project. But with the gifts He gives to each of us we can, in a small way, tag along. Won't you join me? |
| Interests | I am a wife, mother of two (one boy, one girl), and lover of all things vintage and storied. I drink tea copiously, dream continually, and spend most of my time trying to keep myself and my family healthy and sane. We love to travel and can frequently be found in random places throughout the country in our 1978 VW camper van. I also flip furniture and upholster out of my home here in Allen Texas in my spare (HA!) time. |
